ClassAction: Amazing resource for astronomy teaching

During the past few days I have been attending the Summer Meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers. The conference is taking place at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Today, Kevin Lee from the University of Nebraska Lincoln received a very prestigious AAPT award for Undergraduate teaching: Holiday Resnick award for excellence in undergraduate physics teaching. Kevin shared with us the resources he and his colleagues have been built. The resources are for astronomy teaching and might not all be relevant for K-12, yet they might be great for teachers.

In addition, today there was an amazing show – Ben Franklin came to visit us. It was so inspirational and interesting. I feel inspired to read the book about Ben Franklin by Walter Isaacson… I can see how Ben Franklin’s story can help bridge art, history and science in our curriculum…
